You may already have and use a dance bag, or you may be thinking about enrolling yourself or your child in their first dance class. A dance bag is helpful to keep all the things we need for class organized and in one place. Here are some tips and suggestions of what to include in a dance bag.
Dancers under 8 years old (Serendipity and Pre-Ballet students)
- Dance shoes
- Extra set of clothes (leotard and tights)
- Water bottle
- Hair ties and bobby pins or clips to secure the dancer’s hair
Ballet 1
- Dance shoes
- Extra set of clothes (leotard and tights)
- Water bottle
- Hair ties and bobby pins or clips to secure the dancer’s hair (hairnets are helpful for buns)
Ballet 2
- Dance shoes
- Extra set of clothes (leotard and tights)
- Water bottle
- Hair ties and bobby pins or clips to secure the dancer’s hair (hairnets are helpful for buns)
Ballet 3 / 4 / 5 and Intermediate / Advanced adult students
- Dance shoes
- Extra set of clothes (leotard and tights)
- Water bottle
- Hair ties and bobby pins or clips to secure the dancer’s hair (hairnets are helpful for buns)
- Theraband
- Pointe shoes (if the dancer is working en pointe) and other items needed for pointe (toe pads, etc)
- Other warmup aids if needed or desired (foot roller, etc)
Adult Beginning Ballet students
- Dance shoes
- Socks (if needed for your style of dance)
- Water bottle
- Hair ties and bobby pins or clips to secure the dancer’s hair
- Warm ups (if desired) – legwarmers, extra socks, etc
We strongly recommend in the cooler months to also have warm outside clothes for entering and exiting the studio.
