Dance for PD® started in Brooklyn with the Mark Morris Dance Group in 2001, and Claudine has been teaching Dance for PD® since 2008 at Danspace on Thursday mornings. This is the first time we will be offering a formal intergenerational class throughout the network. Students will have an opportunity to work with elders, learn about Parkinson’s disease, and how symptoms manifest and are dealt with in a dance setting. In addition to taking a dance class with people with PD, we will be exploring intergenerational dance composition, which could lead to informal performance opportunities in the community.
